Jenny + John: Engaged!!! Harlingen, Texas

The perks of photographing people in love is being surrounded by happy couples. Jenny and John are no exception. I truly enjoyed spending a lovely Saturday afternoon with them. Truly, I have the best clients... I am their hired employee and Jenny and John happily drove me around Harlingen. That my friends, is what amazing clients are like!!! Honestly, I felt right at home spending the day with them.

Chatting over coffee and then enjoying a beautiful afternoon listening to jazz music, umm... yes please!!! Okay, so I don't drink coffee and instead opted for a lemonade, but the point remains the same: I HAVE THE BEST CLIENTS, EVER.

Jenny and John are in love with each other. They express their love for one another through their mannerisms, glances and sweet words about one another. They truly care for each other and John, John is such a gentleman. His love for Jenny is evident in the way he stares at her when she speaks. When he moves a stray hair away from her face as the wind blows, I can almost hear birds chirping a love song. Okay, so I may have gone a little cheesy there but the truth is their love is evident.

Jenny loves John and John loves Jenny. Together they make an amazingly sweet couple and will soon - very soon, embark on an even more amazing life together through marriage. Jenny and John, congratulations on your engagement!!! See you soon ;)

This is what true love looks like :)

Jenny & John, Thank you for driving me around Harlingen that afternoon and thank you for being amazing people. I am delighted that I get to share with you your special day as your wedding photographer. I can't wait for the 28th!!!!

I sure hope you are having a lovely week because I certainly am! Thank you Jesus :)

Virginia + Omar... Engaged!!! Hidalgo, Texas

Back in November I met Virginia after participating in a small bridal show. I clearly remember speaking with her about my Wedding Collection and everything I had to offer as a wedding photographer. She had specific questions and was so sweet and listened attentively. When she called later on and made an appointment to meet with me I was delighted.

It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know Virginia and Omar. I am very much looking forward to photographing their upcoming wedding this summer. I especially enjoyed spending a lovely afternoon with the two of them capturing their love for each other.

Virginia is smart, successful and very much in love with her prince charming. Omar is somewhat timid and extremely respectful. Quite frankly, he is a well-mannered gentleman. Virginia and Omar together are an amazingly sweet couple. They were set up by their family and, thankfully for Omar, pharmacy school did not take too much of Virginia's time.

Fast forward a few years and Omar will marry Virginia on a beautiful summer day. I am very excited for their upcoming wedding and I am excited to share with you some of my favorites from their engagement session. It's more than usual but I just couldn't decide ;)

Virginia and Omar, Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer. I have grown very fond of the two of you as a couple. You deserve lots of happiness and  I am sure the Lord will bless you with a lifetime of beautiful memories.

**I spent Monday afternoon photographing Virginia's bridal session... too bad I can't share those with you just yet...

I hope you're having a good week... Yay! It's almost Friday ;)

Engaged ♥ Pete and Lyzeth - McAllen, Texas

Have I mentioned engagement sessions are pretty much my favorite to photograph?!

I met Lyzeth and Pete via telephone calls a few weeks ago and looked forward to meeting them in person. I live in a small itty-bitty town called Donna and if you blink as you drive through the expressway you may miss it, literally. To my pleasant surprise, Lyzeth and Pete are from my hometown!

They recently became engaged and I am delighted to have captured their love with the following images. Lyzeth is sweet and very kind. She is also completely in love with her fiance Pete. Pete, Pete was quiet at first but probably because he really didn't know me. As our session progressed through Rancho El Charco in La Joya, the three of us learned a little more about one another.

Pete and Lyzeth were such troopers willing to try new ideas for their session. It had been a while since I photographed at Rancho El Charco so I was looking forward to seeing the landscape since we are back to warm weather and the location did not disappoint.

I definitely need to pull out my cowboy boots for the upcoming summer since I spend a lot of my time shooting outdoors, and in ranches. The perks of my job - I love it!!!

Lyzeth and Pete, thank you for allowing me to spend a lovely afternoon with you. Congratulations on your engagement!!! I wish you lots of happiness and every blessing on your path towards marriage and life as a married couple.

I hope you're having an amazing week!! Be blessed :)

Engaged - Martha and Daniel, Weslaco, Texas

Congratulations to Martha and Daniel, just recently engaged!!!!

Martha and Daniel have known each other for more than five years. And after loosing contact with one another good old facebook brought them to reconnect with each other. Martha is a fun and spunky young woman full of life. Daniel, he seems to be perfectly made to love Martha. The two of them together were so much fun to spend time with. As we strolled through the Estero Llano Grande for their engagement session, it felt more like three good friends meeting up for a nice hike rather than work.

All the laughter almost made me forget about how heavy my camera bag is, ouch! Although we did not have time to see some alligators, we did have plenty of time to capture them together, in love. I had only met Martha once briefly at a wedding fair but upon seeing her again I felt comfortable around her. Thankfully, she seemed comfortable in front of the camera as well, which makes my job way much easier. This was my first time meeting Daniel and he, too, was quite a natural.

We joked about falling in the water, wrestling some gators and about their future wedding plans. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon and am delighted to have learned a little more about the two of them - who they are as individuals and as a couple.

Martha and Daniel, thank you for allowing me to photograph the two of you in all of your loving bliss. The two of you are kind-hearted and very much in love with one another. I congratulate you on your engagement and wish you a very blessed marriage. Enjoy the wedding planning and, most importantly, see you soon ;)!

Wohoooooooo! It's Friday ;) Be blessed!

Leslie and Rick, Engaged - Harlingen, Texas

As much as I love photographing weddings, I truly enjoy the time I spend photographing my fabulous couples during their engagement session. The time in front of the camera is much more intimate and definitely way more relaxed. We have all the time in the world, ideally of course, to play around with the surrounding locations and travel to as many places as we could possibly think of. More importantly, we get to interact with one another as photographer and client. This, this is my utmost favorite part.

I am allowed to be goofy and make them laugh so their portraits are much more relaxed. The engagement session serves as the perfect opportunity for the bride and groom to become acquainted with the photographer's shooting style and personality. We will spend a great chunk of the wedding day together so it is essential that the bride and groom feel comfortable around me and in front of the camera. This results in relaxed imagery even on their most nervous and intimate moments.

When I first met Rick and Leslie, we had emailed back and forth for a while. It was nice to put a face to the lovely bride I had been communicating with :) Leslie and Rick are truly sweethearts. They have spent a few years learning about one another and are finally ready to wed. The two of them are genuinely a loving couple. They are loving and caring towards one another and to those around them.  Leslie exudes sweetness, she is just so darn sweet! Rick is caring and dearly in love with his fiancee. Together, they are both very intelligent individuals ready to conquer the world as a married couple.

The self-proclaimed "once-bully and once-bullied", have matured and fallen in love through the years. They have spent countless of hours on Leslie's front porch talking, talking about each other and their futures. I am delighted to have met them and very much looking forward to their August nuptials. Leslie and Rick, thank you for trusting me with photographing your big day!!! I am anxiously awaiting the late summer wedding :) In the meantime, how about some of their engagement session....

A quick stop at the church where they will be married... and definitely one of my favorites ;)

I love photographing bride's engagement rings... each one is so unique and tells a very special story.

Happy Monday!!!

Itzel and Nathan, Engaged - Pharr, Texas

During one the summer's bridal sessions, I met a lovely young woman who was helping the bride for her bridal portraits. Itzel was quiet and somewhat timid. But very helpful and always looking out for the beautiful bride. As we struck conversation, Sarita - the bride - mentioned Itzel was her brother's girlfriend. Itzel and Sarita's mom said soon it would be Itzel's turn to have bridal portraits. So, naturally, I asked Itzel if she was engaged. She smiled and said no. Then I said, well, when you become engaged you'll make a lovely bride and maybe I'll get the chance to photograph you.

A few weeks later at the wedding, I met Nathan. Nathan was a groomsmen and Itzel was a bridesmaid. Fast forward a few months and I received an email from Itzel... "I'm engaged!..." I was beyond excited :) Photographing Sarita's (Nathan's sister) wedding allowed me to meet and interact her family. I feel honored to be asked to come back for another wedding.

Itzel is the ideal bride... in the sense that I completely see her as a young woman delighted to be engaged to the man of her dreams and eagerly awaiting the day she can begin the rest of her life completely with him. I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding because I can't wait to see what Itzel has planned. She is always on top of things and puts a lot of thought into every aspect of their wedding. Her and Nathan's engagement session was so well thought out that I was so delighted and simply just had to click the shutter and snap a picture.

Okay, so it wasn't that easy... I did kneel down a time or two, which totally makes my job a little harder ;) Kidding aside, spending an afternoon with them was fun. We began their session with some casual photos in their favorite basketball team's jerseys. How fun and cute is that?! Tons, trust me. Then we moved to Nathan's grandmother's house which has such an exquisite yard, all around. It is absolutely beautiful and very natural.

Nathan and Itzel are completely in love with one another. After dating for a few long years, it is evident neither one wants to be without the other. That is truly amazing. The love they share for each other is apparent in the subtle ways they look at and speak to each other. But most importantly, they are wholeheartedly caring individuals, with everyone.

I must add that Nathan is an exceptional pianist. He played throughout this whole segment and I was delighted to hear some amazingly played classical music. I almost wanted to put my camera down and just hang out and listen. But I had to be professional, of course ;)
The light was golden that late afternoon, so romantic ;)

Itzel and Nathan, Congratulations on your engagement!!! Thank you for spending a lovely afternoon with me and I am so looking forward to your wedding day!!!

Be blessed :)
