2016 Holiday Portraits | Schedule

My calendar is officially open to schedule holiday portrait sessions for 2016. Although it is still rather early in the fall, the sooner that you schedule your session will result in your images being ready for many holiday projects and/or decor. If you have any questions, or would like to inquire about a full portrait session, please email me at mary@marisolizaguirre.com

Sessions are available to schedule between October 10th and December 10th of 2016. A non-returnable scheduling deposit of $25 is required to reserve your session date and time. The balance is due upon receipt of goods. You can select your choice of props to add to your session if you wish. Visit the prop collection page (http://marisolizaguirre.com/session-props/) to view my collection of hand-curated items. There is no additional fee to include these props. You may also include your own props if you wish. Additionally, props only enhance the vitality of the session but are not required to document great and artistic portraits. You may keep it simple :) 

Hummingbird Springs Grand Opening | Donna, Texas

I grew up most of my life in the small town of Donna, Texas. It's a small border town in the tip of Texas and while it often makes the local news for not so great things, I enjoy visiting back when I see my parents. I also like when the city of Donna has something new and great to offer. In this case, Hummingbird Springs is a new event venue that has opened its doors in my very own hometown. Hummingbird Springs is a quaint location to host your outdoor wedding and/or shower located in Donna, Texas. They held a grand opening celebration a two weeks ago and I made it in time to see the venue and meet the owners. It was fun and I look forward to seeing and hopefully photographing some wonderful weddings at this location.

Victoria Portrait Session | South Padre Island, Texas

Last month I connected with Victoria through email conversation. She was interested in a portrait session to build upon her brand. She is on the footsteps of creating a brand new career path for herself and decided she wanted a statement image for her biographical portion of the site. She had a vision clearly stated in a somewhat simple sentence. Upon discussing her vision in an email, I immediately imagined what her session would look like. I understood her vision and was eager to make it happen for her photographically. 

We scheduled and aimed for a sunrise session at one of the beaches of South Padre Island. While a delay in her schedule and dark clouds made the sunrise part of the session not possible, the outcome was just as beautiful as we had imagined. The vast open dunes of the beach created the perfect backdrop for Victoria to physically showcase what working with her as a creative designer entails for the client. More on this "vision to reality" journey in another blog post soon!

Liliana Maternity Session | San Juan, Texas

My friend Liliana and her husband recently welcomed their first baby, a healthy and handsome son, a few weeks ago. Their baby was actually born a mere few days after the birth of my husband and I's son. Lilly, as I have known her over the years, and her husband Erik are have a lovely fairy tale love story. When I first heard about the boy Erik that she was dating a few years ago, he sounded unbelievable. The manner in which she described him was astonishing for us girls wishing for our prince charming. Then we met him; and he was indeed everything Lilly described Erik to be. It was lovely to watch them grow together in their relationship. 

Then they got engaged and eventually married. I had the pleasure of photographing them when I first ventured out into photography. I wanted to practice and they were happy to offer. We spent an afternoon in McAllen photographing them and then they treated me to dinner as a thank you. I was a bridesmaid in their wedding and have very fond memories of the celebration. More importantly, it is an honor to have the pleasure of photographing them once more a few years later as they embark on the journey of parenthood.

I have known Lilly since second grade. Oh so many years later, it is beautiful to see her glowing in there maternal instinct. While baby has since been born, I am honored to share with you a few quick portraits I snapped of them during their recent trip to South Texas in June. 

So happy for you Lilly! Congratulations to you and Erik!
