2010 Pharr HUB Phestival

I don't know if you recall, but a few weeks ago I mentioned in a post I was hired to photograph the City of Pharr's 2010 HUB Phestival... remember? If you don't, it's okay... I just told you ;) Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of working behind the scenes during the festival as the photographer for the day. My day was long and started pretty early with a late ending but the experience was well worth it. I enjoyed sitting back and viewing the event through my camera. It was really nice to see people smile at me in hopes of having their picture taken. And it was really, really nice to get all access! Ahh, the perks :)

Two weeks, loads of water, and a really bad sunburn later... I have realized I really enjoy photographing my surroundings. As I have spent the past days editing the batch of photos from the festival, I find myself amazed at what the camera can capture... the beauty of humanity. But well before I get philosophical on you tonight, I'll end this now and leave you with a few pictures from the parade and the festival. I'd like to personally thank the City of Pharr for allowing me the exciting opportunity and a special thanks to Mr. Gary Rodriguez for seeing talent in my work. I hope the job I have done as the photographer can speak for itself and bring me lots of more fun opportunities... minus the bad tan lines ;)

I'm really sleepy and very much tired so I bid you good night and come back to read tomorrow! I have many announcements to tell you :)

Happy Tuesday ;)

AGHHH!!! I've neglected my blog for more than a week now :( I am truly sorry bloggernet but I have been extremely busy, truly I have. Lot's of work with photography, regular work, life, and oh-so-many exciting announcements. My engine has been working on overtime these past few weeks and this is only the beginning. Regardless, I am so excited and did not want to go to sleep tonight without writing a quick blog post. Aren't you glad? I have a few major announcements but for now I will just leave you with a quick announcement. I have booked my first real senior session... a college senior session to be exact. Laura, I look forward to photographing your fabulosity in the coming weeks and Congratulations on your impending graduation! Good night my brothers and sisters. May you dream sweet and make life beautiful :)
Happy Monday ;)

It's Friday!!!!!!!! ;)

Wohoo! It's Friday, aren't you excited? I am :) The week has been extremely busy for me but very productive. I've spent this week working on editing three different batches of photos and as of right now I have finished two sets. I plan on spending the evening finishing the last set and enjoy a fun-filled weekend. Quick announcement...I have been hired as the official photographer for a local city's annual festival featuring lots of food, fun, games, and music for the community of the Rio Grande Valley. I will spend all of Saturday afternoon and night photograhing the City of Pharr's 5th Annual HUB Phestival. If you are from the Rio Grande Valley I encourage you to stop by and enjoy the food, rides, and music. And if you are a Pat Green fan, I really encourage you to stop by at night. Pat Green is scheduled as the evening's main performer and the best part - it's all FREE! Come by and have some fun!

So I guess that will add another batch of photos I have to finish editing by the end of the weekend... But I can do it. I'm excited to photograph the day-long event so I can interact with people and get my photography business out there. What better way than like this? I hope to take full advantage of the opportunity :)

I hope you enjoy your Friday, Saturday and have a very fun and relaxing Sunday. God made weekends so we can have fun and always be safe ;) Until next time, I'll leave you with a preview of one of the sessions I am editing... the rest to come very soon.

Happy Friday, yay!!!

Turtles and Pearls.

Howdy! I hope you my dear are having an ah-mazing week... and an even better weekend. I have been really busy and will be for the next few days. How about you? Have you been busy lately? Amidst all this busy-ness I find myself - and in retrospect... have been in for the past few months - I constantly think about the little things in life I may possibly be missing out on. Every once in a while I remind myself to take a deep breath, really see the world and my surroundings and smile at the people I love. I make sure I take it all in and make a memory of everything my soul sees. I never want to forget anything - the tears, fears, and all the happiness I feel. It scares me sometimes when I realize a month is about to finish and I quickly force myself to stop and ponder all the little and big things I've experienced in the last few weeks. I hate to realize it's March and not know where my time has gone. I want to be able to say, "Hey, it's March. Whoah! I've done so many things already?" Don't you?

Regardless, I am still rather busy and I am sure you are very much as well. So I'd like to remind you to now and then smile and look around you. What do you see? You'll enjoy being busy so much more if you realize all the things you are accomplishing.

The next month I will be really busy and have a gazillion-billion things to do. So many projects I am working on but I am very excited and blessed to have the opportunity to take a bite out of so many things. I'm lucky and you are too ;) A few days ago I received one of the most sincere and special, meaningful gifts someone could give me. I am a simple kind of girl, I really am. Sure I love all things glamourous and everything bigger in Texas but the things which always mean the most and carve a place in my heart are the little things. The sweet smile you receive simply for being you. The spontaneous hello from across the room. The meaningless things we sometimes overlook. All these, they mean something to me. The man I love has just given me such a thing. It's not the exaggerated gift we sometimes claim to want and often ask for. It's so much more than that. And it means the world to me. Chris, you'll never understand what your single pearl signifies to me. I love you and with my heart I give you a very sincere and loving thank you.

What you see is a pearl mounted inside a tiny, little turtle. My heart sees the caring thought of a man who loves me. Chris found this pearl in an oyster and has since given it to me. I love it. I absolutely love it. It's the little things he does, when I least expect it, that's when he steals my heart - time after time.

I am so thankful for him and all the people in my life. I make it a point to stop, see and appreciate all I have. And as of Monday night, I am the proud owner of a pearl, a real pearl I'll wear next to my heart.

Happy Wednesday :)

D.E.C.O.R.A.T.E. it's fun :)

Howdy! I'm so excited the weekend is almost here as I have a fun event that I've planned and will also be photographing this Saturday. I'll let you know and post how that goes next week :) As for now I wanted to share with you some snapshots from my friend Lilly's Bachelorette Party. Her wedding is coming up very soon and as one of her bridesmaids, I've been busy helping her with whatever she needs. I'm so excited for her upcoming wedding!
I made many of the decorations, including the tissue poms, and all of her bridesmaids got together Saturday afternoon and decorated. I had so much fun decorating, preparing, and during her shower. I am sure she enjoyed it as well.

I hope you had a happy Thursday and an even happier Friday :)

I'm not Irish... but Happy St. Patrick's Day :)

Happy St. Patricks Day bloggernet! :) I hope you have a beautiful and extra-green day today :) May you find the lucky four leaf clover and your very own pot of gold.
A few days ago I mentioned one of my weddings may be moved up in date and guess what... It did! I'm so excited for Nathan and Mary's upcoming nuptials... April 9th 2010. Yay!

Happy Wednesday... :)
