The Longoria's Hidalgo Pumphouse Portraits | Hidalgo, Texas

I met many new clients during the months of November and December and I am so thankful! Meeting each client and their respective families, small or large, is one of the perks of the job. While originally shy by nature, I truly do enjoy meeting new people and photographing, especially weddings, pushes me to come out of my shell.

During the first week of December I had the pleasure of photographing Glenda and her lovely little family. Their little boy turned one right around Christmas and with the holidays upon them, no better season than now for their first family portrait.

Thank you for choosing me to photograph y'all this season Glenda. It was a pleasure meeting the little one!

Marissa + Gerardo Pearl South Padre Wedding | South Padre Island, Texas

Right before Thanksgiving, and a mere few days before the wedding date, I met Marissa to talk about her pending wedding. I have encountered a few brides throughout my career as a wedding photographer who hire me last minute. While it may stress some people, I do not mind it and I am so glad I have been available last minute upon request every time.

While we knew the weather would be less than summer-beach ideal for their island nuptials, Marissa and I never impinged the winter storm that would roll in just a few hours before the ceremony. I made it to South Padre Island just in time to see the clear blue sky become overshadowed by dark rain clouds and freezing winds.

It was funny, in retrospect, to say out loud, "I'm headed to a beach wedding today," when the weather said anything but. However, in true lover's fashion, a wedding is a wedding. While locations, planning, and details make events great, the true stars of the celebration are the bride and groom. And their love.

Marissa and Gerardo's plans had to quickly change and while we ended up on their condominium on the 12th floor of the Pearl at South Padre Island, the room normally meant to house a small family of 5 held their closets family and friends. I love big weddings; they are so much fun to photograph and attend. But little small weddings, just like the one I had, hold a special place in my heart.

Truly intimate, and hours behind schedule, when Marissa walked out of the room and Gerardo saw her, the location could have been a beautiful church, a well lit beach, or the most grandest of palaces and his reaction would have still been the same - completely in awe of the beautiful woman he was minutes away from marrying.
